It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website.

The Montessori environment meets the deep needs of children.  It was true for the children in San Lorenzo Italy 105 years ago and it is true for the children of Bellevue Washington today.  Children walk into an environment which is prepared for them and have the freedom to interact with beautiful and enticing teaching materials and learn from them.  Bellevue Montessori School has excelled at providing traditional Montessori education for 46 years. 

When a school has the history such as we have, we find ourselves in the position of educating children whose parents were students here 30 to 40 years ago. These parents want the Montessori education which they were fortunate to receive as a child.  Just this week a man visiting from California stopped by to see his former school.  He remembered “the safe and warm feeling I had when I came to this school”.

Our head teachers have all received training from a MACTE (Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education)-accredited teacher training program.  Several have discovered Montessori after pursuing other careers and have made Bellevue Montessori their home.  In addition to classroom teachers we are privileged to have outstanding specialists teaching our students.  Our elementary Spanish teacher is from Venezuela; our drama teacher is an employee of Seattle Children’s Theatre (and an actress herself); and our music teacher has a passion for music of other cultures wanting her students to sing in a foreign language each week.   

We are accredited by and hold membership in the American Montessori Society and are proud to be an excellent example of traditional Montessori education for students ages 2 3/4-12.  We would be delighted to show you our school.
